Behind the scenes at Santa’s place

To be clear, my mother found great joy in working for Sepia Concepts. The most recent season was for Christmas when she worked as a photographer taking pictures of children with Santa Claus.

Full -day work without proper breaks, meals, etc. Managers were both absent for extended times and present for extended times, and thus aware of what was going on.

Mom got sick working there, likely due to the long hours without breaks and exposure to so many germs.

She didn’t mind this because she expected she would be paid for work done well. Having owned her own delivery company in the past, she understands the idea of “work now, play later.” In fact, she understood it long before these guys were even in business.

Mom went from a size 12 to a size 8 working there. This happened from working long hours and not having a chance to eat properly. She did things like sneaking crackers while working in order to do the best job she could and make her managers happy.

When she asked about overtime issues she was told to continue working and not worry about it.

This story and this site are a personal story about what I saw and heard during this time period and the experience I personally had in trying to get through to Sepia and help my mother get paid. There is certainly more to the story and I hope they will come forward with that side of the story. I for one would welcome an explanation. More importantly though, I hope they will just choose to pay my mother what is due to her. Before making any decisions about Sepia as a company you should search for other similar stories on the Internet and try to hear their side of this story as well. I’d be more than happy to post a link to any response they want  to make. Since  this site is being updated in real-time, some information may be out of date. Even when updates exist in one place, they may not have been posted in others.
